Cannon units often must attack from a distance (for a cannon-user) and must be protected, due to their low defenses and importance in the battle. However, their best trait is that they can attack from a distance. Cannon units, when combined with FCS and their natural +1 range can have 8RNG- capable of attacking any unit before they even reach the cannoneer. Cannon attacks are the most powerful method of attack through most of the game. Gun units have 3 power per level, and melee units have 4 power per level, while the pure cannoneers raise merely 1- however, this tells just how powerful they are in the early game, as they are a mere 20 power away from their gun-specializing counterparts by level 30.

Ground-based Cannon-Versatile UnitsEdit

Although they have weaker cannon power, they have only have 20 power less than normal cannoneers by the time they reach level 30, they are highly mobile, and are good at guns.

Tread-based Cannon UnitsEdit

Despite the fact that tread units have low MOV, they are almost as mobile-capable as flying units, but with the benefit of terrain defense. So, where the firefly can stop above water to avoid being hit, and regular ground units have high mobility, tread cannonneers require MOV to get to and have boosted defenses.

Air-based Cannon UnitsEdit

The firefly has the benefit of hovering over water, where only other air units can reach it, and it is effective against nearly every unit, especially flying units, due to its beam element, and its barrier protects it from other fireflies and endgame Badlands butterflies. It is best at punishing the units that are the most costly to defeat, easily.

Special MentionEdit

All ground-based versatile units are somewhat all-versatile, and have higher cannon stats. Dragonflies also have slightly higher cannon power, but the dragonfly and stag beetle are the weakest at cannons. The spider has the highest low cannon power of the non-cannon drones, but gets the same attack power as the locust due to inability to equip the Radar Wing 3, without the benefit of dodging. The locust is the only dual-type drone good at both due to its special ability.
